COALAB is always interested in connecting with motivated students and researchers whose interests align with speech-language pathology, language development, reading and writing, cognition, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence.
Although we may not always have advertised openings, we strongly encourage prospective candidates to get in touch to discuss potential research fit and future opportunities.
How to Get in Touch
Prospective applicants are invited to contact Dr. Selçuk Güven by email and include:
- A brief description of research interests
- A CV
- (If applicable) transcripts or writing samples
- Any relevant experience (clinical, computational, experimental, or interdisciplinary)
PhD Students
COALAB supervises PhD students interested in speech-language, reading–writing, and cognition research from:
- Computational
- Cognitive
- Neuroscientific
- Clinically grounded perspectives
Doctoral supervision is offered through multiple academic pathways, depending on the student’s background and objectives. Interested candidates should contact Dr. Selçuk Güven directly to discuss research alignment prior to applying.
Master’s Students
Master’s students can join COALAB through:
- Research assistantships
- Thesis projects
- Travail dirigé
Students interested in completing a master’s project within the lab are encouraged to reach out with a short description of their interests and academic background.
Undergraduate Research Assistants / Interns
COALAB regularly hosts undergraduate students and interns who wish to gain research experience in areas such as:
- Data collection and annotation
- Behavioral and clinical research
- Computational analysis
- Literature reviews and experimental support

Visiting Scholars & Collaborators
